These poems flowed out of some much needed quiet with the Lord. My Savior is gracious and compassionate and patient with my wayward heart that is prone to wander. Are you flailing in your sin?
Lost and weary of the trial you're in
Sudden change you wish you'd find
Yet all you encounter requires time.
Devotion is the answer.
It is these idols of the heart
must be crumpled, bit by bit
while at His feet you choose to sit.
Where is your comfort and failings to lie,
In repentance to His seat you fly.
You're my comfort, peace and strength
Alone I cannot make a change.

Crashing, crashing out of control
One by one they continue to roll.
Endless mercy, grace and love
from your Heavenly Father above.
Do not fret or delay for in this grasp you will realize
comes the continual grace to reach the prize.

In yourself in selfish pride,
in the defeat and guilt you hide.

If in His lap you choose to confide
Eternal hope are in His side.
Rush to Him and hide your face
and He will cover you with grace.
No longer needing to punish yourself
or try to finish the race yourself.
This was completed once for all
upon the cross' eternal call.
Even when you fear eventual fail
the Lord, He longs to hear your tale.
He is not weak nor does he tire
of your struggle up from the mire.
Rush to his side, dear precious one
For you find your strength within the Son.

for the One who conquers it is alive.
No longer broken, feeble, or weak
for is His face you'll continually seek.
He longs for your presence and joy of your face,
As you submit to His marvelous grace.
In His arms and continual embrace
your defeat will have no place.
For finished are your sinful chains,
when in His love you choose to remain.

unaware of the unfailing love in which you are wrapped;
fleeing, running so tired in self.
Stop spinning and toiling all by yourself.
Self will unravel leave you buried and drained.
Let this heat drive you to desire the grace of His rain.

Living water, eternal and full,reach for His hand out of the pit He will pull.
